Beach Loungers

Not much to report today.  A really good sleep in after our late dinner last night with all the Canada Day celebrations.  Shannon managed to get a run in in the morning to come home to all of us still fast asleep.  Going back to work is really going to be tough... good thing I’ve got a bit of time before that.

Jenna was still crashed so Alyssa and I decided we should go for a kayak and take the swimming goggles to see if there was anywhere to snorkel.  We headed past the main beach and further west.  We also found the nude beach but not on purpose, more Alyssa asking if those people had any cloths on.  Further yet and we found some cliffs and small island where a couple of dive boats were anchored.  We figured this is the spot for sure and tied up the kayak and hit the water.  There was a little cave that we checked out and some fish but we haven’t really seen anything breath taking when it comes to fish and coral.  The water is incredibly clear but the marine life is a bit lacking.   One thing we did find was the sea urchins are finding small abalone and eating them so we found some pretty newly eaten abalone shells littered across the ocean floor.  We paddled back with a nice tail wind and wove through all the boats that were congregating off the main beach and trying to set anchor... another pretty funny thing to watch!
Life's a beach.
We headed back and got
our stuff together to head to the main beach at the crack of 2:30.  The wind was already cranking and we decided to pick the windy side so it wasn’t so hot.  The typical beach route; swim, laydown and dry off, read, sleep and repeat.  Alyssa and I went off to watch the kite boarders and had our own kite to test out.  We had an issue with it doing suicidal death spirals in Wales but I think we’ve got that ironed out now.

It was time to head back but Jenna felt we had to show Alys and Shan the really comfy beanbag chairs we had found at one of the beach side pub yesterday so it was beer and sodas all around.  They even had a saxophone accompanying a deejay to set the mood.  Finally, it was time to head back to make it to the grocery store before it closed and the girls felt it was time for a Revy favourite... hotdogs and chicken burgers.  They were a bit dry when you don’t have all the fixings but pretty good none the less.
West side of the beach.
The other side of the beach on the east side.
Apres dinner, we didn’t want to disrupt the routine of the day so we set out to find a gelatino and had a mellow stroll around town.  If this keeps up I’m going to be 220 lbs by the time I get back!  Once at home it was bed time to get rested for another action packed adventure tomorrow!
Our place right above the blue sign.  Nice place to relax on the deck.
