Beach Time!

Had to add one more door from Turin.
Got up and headed for the train station for our final leg of the journey to get to the beach.  A two hour train ride to Savona and then a short hop west to Finale Ligure.  We timed the connection perfectly and got to Finale with hours before we could check in.  So on with the packs out of the train station and it was time to hit the beach.  Dropped the packs in a big pile, the girls got changed and in five minutes they were floating on the Mediterranean!

You could feel the relaxation as we left the train station and saw people wandering the streets and hanging out at the coffee shops.  As our check in got closer, I went for a walk to find the place and then back to grab the girls.  Our place is right on the main drag with a nice little kitchen and balcony overlooking the sidewalk so we could people watch in the morning with our coffees.
Jenna on our trek to the train station.... She's not a morning girl!

The main town of Finale is built next to a stream on the flat ground while the houses are built up the sides.  It’s pretty spectacular where they can build houses around here.  Ridge tops, some terracing and then just plunk a house down there.  On the train from Savona you would pass houses and stores and then black... into another tunnel and once you got to the other side, more houses.  Like I said, it seems all the flat ground has houses on it and they slowly build their way up the hillside.  Still lots of green and trees around here though.  The town is definitely a bit touristy but it has a nice balance of locals and visitors.  We’re not hearing a whole lot of English spoken either as this seems Finale is the vacation spot for Italians.
These are the crazy glimpses of the towns and country sides you get between tunnels and walls of vegetation.

Once we got to our accommodation Shan and I headed for the grocery store to stock up for the next four days.  A little more difficult trying to figure out what everything is than it was in France as we see a lot more French on our shelves in Canada and have a better understanding of what it is. Stumbled through it and home again to catch up on the blog and sit on the deck with a beer to watch the world go by!  Dinner and a tour around the downtown and it was time for some sleep and catch up from the last few weeks.  No rush to do much tomorrow, Jenna was sure excited about that!
Our new home for the next four days.
